Yellow Pond Lily

Common name: Yellow Pond Lily
(Bullhead Lily)

Scientific name: Nuphar variegata

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1½-2½" (4-6.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: Aquatic; flowers and leaves
    sometimes 1' (30 cm) above the water

Blooming period: May-September

Habitat: Ponds, lakes, sluggish water

Description: Aquatic plant with yellow, cup- like flowers; 6 fleshy sepals, numerous petals, disk-like stigma in center. Leaves mostly floating, 3-15" (7.5-38 cm) long, oval or oblong with deep notch at base. Water Lily family. (June 24)
